Re: The Backlog Check-in Vol. 288: 7/8/23: Exoprimal Edition

all I could offer is my own lens on the creation - no "better" or "worse" than another. I know you like "concrete clarity" to be served up on a dish, but life ain't work that way. ;) I was joking about you telling me what the story is about :P, but it’s a video game wi...

Re: The Backlog Check-in Vol. 288: 7/8/23: Exoprimal Edition

I have a love/hate relationship with a lot of indie games, they are often charming and creative but also often obtuse when it comes to their storytelling. I like piecing together a story if all of the pieces come together at the end, and you figure out what it was all about. I don’t like when at the...

Re: The Backlog Check-in Vol. 288: 7/8/23: Exoprimal Edition

I quit playing Ghost Recon: Wildlands because it was starting to feel too same-y, despite playing it four years ago I was still remembering it like I played it more recently. While it’s definitely a great game, it’s a really big game with a large open world packed with content and I played it thorou...

Ha, well I'm pretty sure none of you is close to the number I will reach two months from now.
I’ll be that old in seven years.

Re: The PS2 Backlog Committee Game Club Presents: PS2oose Your Own Summer Adventure!

I *still* adore classic (Core-developed) Tomb Raider. Those games, for me, are as great as they ever were. Admittedly there's a clunkiness and stiffness to the movement, but the precision is worth the tradeoff. And the exploration, atmosphere and music are still wonderful today imho. The PS1 entrie...

Re: The PS2 Backlog Committee Game Club Presents: PS2oose Your Own Summer Adventure!

I remember playing a little Vexx, but I can't really remember anything specific about it. And it's not because I don't like 3D collect-a-thons. ;) Matter of fact, I'd recommend one that most people passed over back in the day, i-Ninja. I liked I-Ninja a lot, from what I remember it was more of a st...

Re: The PS2 Backlog Committee Game Club Presents: PS2oose Your Own Summer Adventure!

I played it, and remember not really liking it. https://media.tenor.com/dH1fYMRtgzsAAAAM/zooey-deschanel-sounds-about-right.gif I’ve just never really been a fan of cartoonish 3D collect-a-thon platformers, when everyone was going crazy over Super Mario 64 I just didn’t really see the appeal.
