I get the point there, but I usually like doing the checkbox/collectible/side stuff in AAA (or other) games that some would see as padding, whether it's God of War Ragnarok, Ghost of Tsushima, Yakuza or Psychonauts 2. If it's just pointless and unfun and annoying, I'll pass... but most of the games ...

Re: The PS2 Backlog Committee Game Club #1 - Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow
Hearts have never refilled health in Castlevania games (yeah, it's weird, but just a remnant of NES weirdness). Traditionally they have given you uses of your sub-weapons, but since there are no sub-weapons in Aria they refill a tiny bit of your magic meter - it's honestly not even noticeable unles...

Re: The PS2 Backlog Committee Game Club #1 - Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow
A few random stats of my playthrough. I believe in the end I was lvl 50 (would have to recheck, but it was definitely 50 or 51). My most-used attack soul in the early game was Ghost - it hit hard, tho it did often just veer off into the wild and not hit anything. Mid-game I switched to Disc A...

Re: The PS2 Backlog Committee Game Club #1 - Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow
Btw, cane & argyle, do you think the bonus/final boss/etc is something that is worth trying to figure out on my own or is it one of those things that would just be too big a hassle? I really don't want to look it up, but I'm also satisfied with my experience overall and ready to move on. If you...

That's a bummer about your controller. I only have one that works now... hoping it will last forever. I do not want to have to buy a new one. Played recently: Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow Finished: Aria of Sorrow Added to backlog: Octopath Traveler II Current backlog: 30 I finished Aria of Sorrow las...

Re: The PS2 Backlog Committee Game Club #1 - Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow
Pretty good first run of the game club I'd say! Agreed! I beat it last night, then went back and did it again with the required items to move to the bonus stuff. I reached what apparently is the ultimate boss but lost on its second phase. Unfortunately, I ran out of healing items on the previous bo...

Death is at the top of an area on the right of the map. Not the farthest right, the one before that. Skula is just past him.

Re: The PS2 Backlog Committee Game Club #1 - Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow
<rant> This game is infuriating for me. I recognize that I'm the only moron here who either can't figure it out or, as I'm starting to suspect, has just been unlucky enough to not have whatever vital ability I need to progress drop. I am **NOT** a fan of the "soul" system. This is not the...
