Re: The Backlog Check-in Vol. 428: 3/14/26: MLB The Show 26 Edition

Loving Planet of Lana 2 so far. It doesn't stray too far from the original gameplay-wise, but that's fine by me. These games really feel like 2D spiritual successors of the ICO/SotC/TLG games. They do just as amazing a job at conveying a story using a made-up language that they never bother to tran...

Crimson Desert (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC) - March 19 That one is getting a lot of hype. Any of you guys planning to venture into the Crimson Desert at launch? I'm interested but won't buy until I learn more. Played recently: Horizon: Forbidden West Finished: nothing Added to backlog: nothing Rollin...

I found it pretty good overall. They did simplify some things, removed other things, but then also brought parts of the game up to modern day standards. Probably depends what you loved about the original game...because I don't think you're gonna like the retcon at the very end. Dark Ties was also f...

Re: The Backlog Check-in Vol. 427: 3/7/26: Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake Edition

Oh, I don't remember either part of that. Me either. The last I recall of Phase, he was in a very dark place because his physical and mental issues had made it so he couldn't even play games. Not good. More pleasant news - Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties has been platinum'd! Congrats! How does the re...

Yeah, where is he? :?: I hope he's all right. I fear he sleeps with the fishes and Luca Brasi. Phase, if you're out there, give us a heads up and howdy-do! Played recently: Horizon: Forbidden West Finished: nothing Added to backlog: nothing I've played a decent amount of Forbidden West. There's not...

One thing I recall is the gripe that NPCs gave you hints/suggestions before you even had a chance to look where to go or what to do, and that is 100% true.

That is a dope setup, argyle! What is the thing that looks like a controller on top of the Sharp machine at right?

Have any of you guys got anything special a'brewin' for the rest of the year?!? RE9 just came out, the DQ VII remake (j/cane?), whatever? I've got lots of things I'd like to try if I could ever tear myself away from my true love!!!! Not bloody likely! ;) Good question. I'm rarely buying games on da...

I am squarely in the camp of those who hate AI and want nothing to do with it. It's a massive negative in every possible way.

Re: The Backlog Check-in Vol. 425: 2/21/26: Resident Evil Requiem Edition

Played recently: Ball x Pit Finished: Ball x Pit Added to backlog: nothing Well Ball x Pit turned out to be more addicting than I thought. I beat the game and then went back and did a decent amount of the trophy stuff (finishing levels with different characters and whatnot). I might go for the plat....
