Re: The Backlog Check-In Vol. 443: 6/29/26: Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains Edition

And that's like actually true this year. Barring any unforeseen issues, I will be taking the summer off for real, no summer school, summer programs, nothing. He's free!!! :) I hope you can enjoy this rare configuration of circumstance to the fullest crim! Whoa! I never thought of that. I lived in &...

Re: The Backlog Check-In Vol. 443: 6/29/26: Monopoly: Star Wars Heroes vs. Villains Edition

Played recently: GTA Vice City Finished: nothing Added to backlog: nothing As you can see, the talk here about GTA VI and Vice City prompted me to try to play the OG one more time. Previous efforts to go back to one of my all-time faves had led to frustration with the controls (especially the camer...

Re: Izzy's 2025

Wow, haha... I heard about that a long time ago, glad I now know what it is. As much as I need to, anyway. Thanks! (You also made me remember a time I was interested in the NBA. Many moons ago!) Back in the Bob Cousy days? :P 9 ) POCO (PC - 2025 : 3.6 hours played) 3/5 https://i.imgur.com/GHeRXE9.p...

Re: The Backlog Check-In Vol. 442: 6/22/26: Star Fox Edition

Yeah, I think we're in a new era, fiscally speaking, especially in terms of tech. Valve revealed that their overpriced and underpowered (according to tech enthusiasts) Steam machine is a stronger device than 70% of their users machines, and they poll and keep thorough records of hardware specs on th...

Re: The Backlog Check-In Vol. 442: 6/22/26: Star Fox Edition

I also have been replaying GTA Vice City from the PS2 era. I'm having a lot of fun with it, but I'll just say that Rockstar obviously learned quite a bit in their post-PS2 work, ha. Some of the mission design - whoo boy! It was clunky back then and I knew it and still loved the game, but with the l...

Re: The Backlog Check-In Vol. 442: 6/22/26: Star Fox Edition

I've nearly finished all of the official and some unofficial content for Quake and man has it been fun. (dudes! :P) Already played about 25 hours, and I'll probably look at some of the community mods at some point, as they are entire games all their own. I also have been replaying GTA Vice City from...

Re: Izzy's 2025

Talking about your grandson reminds me of watching little ones grow up. I used to play Lego Star-wars with my kid long ago since we could do it together and I could jump in and overcome the "danger", ha! It's interesting watching kids incorporate the fundamentals of hand-eye coordination....

Re: The Backlog Check-In Vol. 441: 6/13/26: The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales Edition

Apparently it's 1996, and I haven't made the mistake of my first wife yet. :P Yes Izzy, it's an amazing game, I can't believe you can actually look up & down now - unlike Doom or Duke Nukem. Where will games possibly go from here??? Now if you will excuse me, I'm going to pop down to the store ...

Re: The Backlog Check-In Vol. 441: 6/13/26: The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales Edition

Why didn't I ever hear anybody talk about how great Quake is?!? :P I know I'm more than a bit fashionably late to this party, but man what a blast that was. I'm playing the included expansions after the main campaign now, but I didn't expect such an excellent time. I know it's a beloved game/series...
