I started playing Knights Contract, and it’s been a mildly entertaining third person action game so far. It was developed in Japan, and has a bit of a Devil May Cry vibe to it.

You play as a big scythe wielding Knight escorting a young witch to a set destination. You can’t die but she can, so you have to protect her. You traverse linear levels hacking and slashing enemies, and using the witch’s magic spell attacks.

The story, characters, graphics and voice acting are all decent, and the gameplay is button mashing fun.

I'm done, until/unless any DLC comes along. There's honestly not a ton I haven't done at this point - I got all the achievements except for the ones for collecting all the legendary stuff & the other 2 ending related ones.

Congrats argyle...but sorry fam, I just rolled credits on Tekken 7. I don't care what Elden Ring did, it could never top the ****house rat crazy nonsense I just experienced    !!! What the hell, how has nobody ever told me at this thing? There's straight up Street Fighter Akuma, satellite lasers, a lady that THROWS TIGERS, I think some kind of Android schoolgirl, illegitimate children, poor escalation techniques, nobody speaks the same language but everyone understands everything being said and it ends in a volcano! All delivered by the most deadpan narrator who's supposed to be some kind of journalist who could not be bothered pretend to emote even though the whole deal with him is that his family died in this Tekken war nonsense. Oh and then the epilogue has the audacity, the sheer temerity to end with a ******* Oscar Wilde quote...   ! Game of the year contender based just on the story mode alone, I might platinum this sucker out of respect for how gloriously stupid the whole 3-4 hour spectacle was   .

I wouldn’t expect there to be after 187 hours of playing. I look forward to your review.

I stopped playing Knights Contract because I’m not in the mood for another linear third person action game right now. I’m more in an adventure game or RPG mood, so I started playing Atom RPG. It’s a retro style isometric view CRPG with a post apocalyptic theme similar to Fallout. It’s an indie game so it’s lacking things like cinematic flare, scripted events, set pieces and voice acting. Character interaction is done with portraits and text, and there’s a lot of reading. The environment graphics and character models are decent, and the core gameplay is kept fairly basic without complicated mechanics or systems. I’ve been enjoying it since it’s a change of pace from all of the linear action games and shooters that I’ve been playing lately.

Atom is a game I've had my eye on and almost picked up. Let us know what you think of it when you're done. (or put it down)

I'm almost through with the base game of Painkiller Black Edition, and wow what a fun ride. I've still got the Battle out of Hell extra levels when I'm done though. I'm also still playing Unreal World and absolutely love that one. I love survival games, and this one is as deep as they come. 30 years of development really shows. I'm also still playing :The Longing: and I've only got a little over 200 days until I can "awaken the king", whatever that will mean. I feel like I've exhausted the exploration of the world, so my only reason to check in at this point is to rest and read in my little cave home or check to see if anything has changed in the underground labyrinth. And I'm over 140 hours into RDR2 and still plugging away. I mostly quit my wandering cowboy ways and have started to dig into actual game progression more. I've got some issues with the narrative that I'll have to marinate on to properly articulate, but overall I absolutely love the game. I'm hoping that I'll be able to continue on in the world/exploration/challenges/etc after the game-proper concludes, but I don't want to spoil myself, so I'll just make a wish. :P I doubt I'd start it over just to do side stuff that I've waited on, so hopefully I can come back to the world post-game and continue on if I wish.

Based on what I’ve played of it so far, I’m almost certain that you’ll like it. I stayed up late playing it last night which I haven’t done with a game in a while, it’s a fairly deep and engrossing RPG.
