Re: The Haul Thread 2024
Picked up two interesting rogue-ish games.
I had never heard of Jupiter Hell, but after reading about it, I thought it sounded really interesting.
As far as Withering Rooms, it has been ****HIGH**** on my wishlist ever since it came out. A combination Souls, Metroidvania, Survival Horror WITH Rogue elements.
Truly a game that seems as if it was made specifically for me. Time will tell, but the bundle was only $3.33 per game and I already had some credit / bonus coupons from previous purchases, so I ended up paying $1.06 for the two games. If they are as good as I think they'll be (for me), 53 cents a game is STUPID!
Really excited. I didn't expect to get Withering Rooms so cheap and so soon!

Grabbed a few things on the Steam autumn sale.
I had never played a Forza game and 4 was about to be delisted (on DEC 15th, I think), so I figured I'd grab the Ultimate Edition for a rainy day. I had also already played Mad Max, and while I didn't complete it and found it average in some regards, I had fond enough memories of it that I think I might return to it one day. I really loved Shiren the Wanderer on DS last year, so I thought I get this since it was so cheap. I never played FEZ despite the hype long ago, and I figure I'd finally pick that up. (I know many view the dev as a tool. I don't know or care if the game is good.) Also got a couple pinball tables (of course) and a random assortment of oddities that tickled my fancy. So...Happy Thanksgiving to ME!!!!

Re: The Haul Thread 2024
I ended up browsing various sales after I finished up with the Steam autumn sale and I succumbed to the temptation to buy from CDkeys again, lol. I've been a bad boy.
I had played some of Outlast years ago, but it was one of those times where it just sort of fell by the wayside despite the interest. I already had Outlast II on Steam, so I figured I'd pick it up again. (I don't pay for PS+ or whatever it's called now, so I don't have access to all the freebies I'd claimed over the years, which was the case for Outlast.)
I already had Lego HP years 1-4, so I figured I'd get the conclusion since it was so cheap.
I finally picked up the original Quake not so long ago, so I figured I'd get the second for whenever I'm in the mood for some classic retro shooting.
The rest were some games I was interested in to varying degrees, but were also all so cheap that it was easy to take a chance. There were even a couple I had never heard of but when I saw the price and looked into the game couldn't resist. Webbed, in particular, falls into that category.
You know I had a weird thought when getting all these games so cheap. It reminded me of the PS1 days when I felt like I was getting a steal at $39.99 sometimes and then couldn't believe the deal when you got the $19.99 titles. It's really amazing how different I feel about game pricing, especially since becoming PC-centric in my play. (And that's to make no mention of pir...um...emulation. Yes I am a bad boy. )
