Last week: Finished Balatro, played a little Enter the Gungeon.
This week: I'll mess around with something until I can get Xenoblade X
I beat all stakes levels - basically difficulties - on one deck in Balatro. I'm calling that "beaten", since the game is more or less designed to be neverending.
I caught a case of the crud last week - just about have it beat, but I took one last sick day today to finish getting over the cough. This is spring break week for us, so students & faculty are off.

As with my return to DQ8, I am having an absolute blast replaying GTA SA, another of my all-time favorites. I don't know if it's nostalgia or what, but it feels like the magic of that era has been lost to a certain extent.
Also as with DQ8, I forgot a lot of what happens... including all the bonkers stuff with Catalina.

I just got to San Fierro. Looking forward to doing some RC missions. Seriously, love those.

I've been lost in my OOTP fantasy, although I expect that this league is going to be an ongoing part of my gaming LONG into the future. So I'll mix in other stuff of course. Now that I've got the league set up, it's easy to hop in, play/manage a few games, make a trade or two along with other roster moves, do some micro-managing of staff, peruse individual / team stats, standings and whatnot, and just enjoy the slow unfolding.
I played a little more McPixel 3 and am still finding it an easy, breezy set of fun vignettes. It's not "must play" stuff, but not everything has to be in order to have a good time.
I also (crim) have gotten a bit more into Ecco The Dolphin. Progress is slow going, so I'll save any significant posts for the thread you made. But I will gather myself and gain momentum.
I also started up Wario Land 4 on the GBA and it's a *really* fun and well-designed platformer with a fun and quirky personality, nicely befitting the anti-Mario. And speaking of older games (and indies, generally speaking), I'd argue (and agree cane) that there is something different about them in comparison with the cynical, money-grubbing crap that makes up a large portion of mainstream gaming today.

Finished: Nothing
Now Playing: Ace Attorney Trilogy, Pirate Yakuza
Added to Backlog: Nothing
Current Backlog: 43 games
Played a bit more Pirate Yakuza and nearing the end of the story with a few more trophies to clean up after that.
March Madness starts tomorrow! Haven't been following college basketball like I used to, but the tournament is always exciting to watch.

I have passed what I recall as the toughest hurdles in GTA San Andreas: The Zero missions (Air Raid/Supply Lines) and Driving School. Once upon a time I got all gold in the latter... probably the toughest thing I've ever done in a game. (jfissel remembers!) I got a couple of golds this time, but not going for that again.
On Supply Lines, I thought I was done when I finally killed all the couriers with the RC plane... and then I was reminded I had to fly the thing all the way back to the rooftop without running out of gas. Barely made it.

I think this is the first year in forever that I didn't even fill out a bracket. My Hurricanes were crap this year so I didn't watch too much NCAA hoops.

Yep, you gotta get back and that can be the challenge. I achieved 100nwed%, so I definitely got all golds in the driving school.canedaddy wrote: ↑Thu Mar 20, 2025 10:17 am I have passed what I recall as the toughest hurdles in GTA San Andreas: The Zero missions (Air Raid/Supply Lines) and Driving School. Bummer. Most of the games today weren't that close at the end, but McNeese State had an upset as a 12 seed. They almost blew it.
