There's Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel, the actually good Aero the Acrobat game!

Played: literally nothing except replaying Hi Fi Rush Track 11, The Needle Drop several times because not only did I have no time this week except a few minutes in commute but it is probably one of the GOAT levels, they really crushed it. After playing that, I demand Congress have hearings to say to Microsoft: 'bruh, you couldn't find a way to make money with a company that made THIS? Seriously? We don't know what we're charging you with, but you're getting charged because that is some kind of crime.' it's really good and while Chai continues to suck, he sucks a little bit less than I previously thought.

Bought: nothing

Beat: nothing

Well this has been a rough gaming month! Jewish high holidays are coming so at least it's a short week with Thursday and Friday off and the babies in daycare. Maybe I can finally sit down so I can purchase and play MVC Collection.

Hope all's well, friends!

Games added: Embr, Foretales (both switch), Dusk Diver 2, Them's Fightin' Herds (both ps4)

Last week: Finished Cursed to Golf, played Infinite Wealth.

This week: Mainly IW

I swear, either I'm some kind of video game golf prodigy or everyone else that plays CtG just really sucks. Every review of that game I watch they go on & on about how hard & unfair it is, and I knocked it out in around a week playing casually. It is not that hard. Some of the abilities you can obtain are almost broken in fact, and make parts of the game super easy. I had a tee that gave me the "phase" ability whenever I wanted it, which makes your ball pass through anything. So if the hole is several layers below you & they want you to go back & forth to get there? Forget that, just phase it through the ground. Heck, there was one tee I had that had limited uses (2 or 3, not sure exactly) that would teleport me directly to the hole. So round starts, click the ability, you're at the hole - chip it in, done. Not only that, but if you are doing poorly in a hole all you have to do is just quit out to the main menu, then when you continue you'll be back at the start of that hole. So that negates all the whining I hear about having to start over from the beginning if you lose. Heck, my only complaints with it are that there's no real reason to replay it - most roguelikes have you unlocking things as you go so there's reason to keep playing them even after you've "beaten" them. There's nothing like that in this one that I have seen. But otherwise, it's a lot of fun - I recommend it on the cheap (I got it free on the PC through Amazon Prime, doesn't get cheaper than that, tho I admit I also own a physical copy on the Switch).

Still digging IW, and haven't played any more Yars Rising over the past week. Want to try to squeeze some of that in this week, but it's hard to break away from IW.

I had a cold/allergies/whatever last week and have been in a semi-fog ever since. I could have sworn I posted here about playing Vampire Survivors, but I don't see it. (Please don't be Alzheimer's! )

Played recently: Vampire Survivors, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Finished: nothing

Added to backlog: Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Current backlog: 46

Vampire Survivors is just as amazing as advertised. I played a whole lot of it and couldn't put it down. I still have some stuff to unlock and plan to go back to it frequently as a palate cleanser between games. A+++

I then fired up the Metrovania PoP, and it is great too. I was a big fan of the PS2 trilogy and I'm enamored with whatever is going on with the main character and his "Immortal" pals... very different from the awesome Sands of Time prince. BUT... from every other perspective, the game is truly outstanding. This is how you do a Metrovania.

I'm still playing Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and it's been really fun. It's one of those fps's where you feel like you want to inch your way forward oftentimes rather than run 'n gun. (or maybe that's just my weak-sauce skills) But there *are* levels that are certainly (light) stealth oriented, and overall there's a nice variety of locales and the shooting and atmosphere are a real good time.

I'm also still playing Legend Bowl. I finished with my worst record ever @ 13-3, lol. And this is the first season (my 4th) that I didn't finish the season as #1 in the overall power rankings at the end of the regular season. I was #2, ha. I'm still the #1 seed in the NFC though, and while it's certainly been more challenging in the move from Pro to Veteran to Superstar to Legend, I think I'm just too good. I've read lots of people complaining that the game is too tough at higher difficulties, but I guess I just got things sorted. It's super fun though, and I really wish there was an online multiplayer and even an online franchise. But those things never work out because everyone who goes 0-1 or 0-2 simply quits never to be seen again. I learned that lesson back in the online franchise days of NFL 2K5 on the PS2 way back when. Most people simply have no tolerance for any sort of resistance to their self-assigned "greatness". lol The dissonance between internal belief and external reality is simply shattering. :P So they just pretend / ostrich-head and move on with life. Personally, I like losing and getting challenged in life and gaming. It's those moments when you get to grow. But I think I'm sort of a dinosaur - in more ways than one.

Alright fam, 4 day weekend is here. If I don't buy MVC Collection by the end of this weekend, I ain't so sure I'll get it before 2025. Wish me luck :| ...

Also old man, been dicking around with Mad Max on the Steam Deck. It looks REALLY REALLY GOOD and I am enjoying it bug free right now on commute. I tried it on PS4 during the pandemic but the Magnum Opus kept falling through the world at random points and my 'if this glitches three times, let it go' rule kicked in. Glad you got through it with praise so I picked it up for less than $2. I love how great and stupid the opening is with the fight on the truck and the chainsaw, such a great opening!
