Wait...are they only launching the Switch 2 with Mario Kart (yes, I get it) and a bunch of ports and definitive editions (you know, old stuff)? What the entire capitalism is that nonsense? This is acceptable? Am I missing something?

Oh and I bought Skyrim Anniversary Edition for Steam Deck because it was cheap. I might actually play it this time!... after FF o rama of course. Oh and SMT 3 which I still owe Izzy a playthrough.

FF2 is... it's...ummm....how did they make a franchise this big after that?

You bring this up every now and then, ha. You don't need to force yourself for me, as I've mentioned. It seemed like you gave it a fair shot but just bounced off it. It's all good. Games is meant to be fun! ;)

*********************

This week, I've been playing tons of OOTP, of course.

I also got back into Inferno Climber and I'm really enjoying this interesting Souls-like. It's tough and grindy in spots, but it's a really interesting take on this concept. I'm 22 hours in and have only beaten the first of what appears to be 5 (or maybe 6 - if there's *another* final boss) bosses. But I'm definitely powered up to the point that I feel like progress is easier. Navigating the world is also interesting with lots of unique challenges and methods of progression. Given the rabid Souls love, a part of me is surprised that this completely went under the radar. But I have read that many have had devastating technical issues on both PC and console, so that may be what muted the reception. It's been fine for me though, so I'm glad about that.

It isn't acceptable and has been laughed at (along with the price and other dumb things like the paid Welcome Tour) since the reveal.

Because FF2 wasn't released in NA for a long time?

Played recently: Detroit: Become Human, Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut

Finished: Detroit

Added to backlog: nothing

Current backlog: 40

I wrapped up Detroit and followed through on my plan to stick with the results of my decisions no matter what, and let me tell you, it didn't go so hot. All three protagonists dead. Ah well, that's canon now! At least the dirty robots didn't wipe out humanity. :)

After that I found myself drawn to one of my favorite games in recent memory, Ghost. The PS5 version is free on PS+ Extra. I had never done the DLC so I decided to run through the whole shebang in advance of Yotei coming out in a few months. Man, I truly love how this game plays and feels, so sweet. Very hard for me to put it down. Jin Sakai is a bad dude, carving up the filthy Mongrols and sicko bandits and treacherous straw hats. Love it.

Games added: Fantasy Life i, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown

Last week: Finished nothing, played Expedition 33

This week: Same, along with whatever I play once I get my Switch 2

Expedition 33 is a top-notch JRPG-style RPG. (it's not Japanese developed, there's an argument of whether JRPG means "made by Japanese" or just in that style, I'm too old to care :P) I love all of the characters, I'm fully invested in the story, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it all wraps up. It's a very good length - they say 30 hours for the main story, 60 for everything. I'm not sure how much time I have in it at this point, but there's no pointless padding in the game - all killer no filler, as it were. ;) I think I'll finish it this week, and at this point I expect it to be very high on my year-end list. Y'know, the list I'll finally post in 2017.

Before I looked at the calendar, I thought I fell into a wormhole again.

The FFT remaster along with the FF9 remake/remaster are two of the worst-kept secrets in gaming right now. Maybe they'll go ahead & officially announce FF9 later this weekend.

And that's...Marvel vs Capcom minus Capcom? Uhh...ok Sony, you do you I guess. :?
