Astro Bot is fun! Duh. Just finished up the first area with the gorilla. Good times.
Hope you guys are enjoying the new year.

Here we are in 2026! How about that?
Yeah, has a curious flavor. On New Year's Eve I had to run out to the grocery store and pick up a handful of things. The receipt total $26.26, lol. We'll see what this year portends, and if the numeralogical emphasis of that receipt holds some personal or collective weight.
Sorry about your Ravens, btw. Exciting game for the neutral though.
I'm about 25 hours in to DQ8, and not too long ago I
freed the ship from its landlocked condition
and the world feels much more open. I also just discovered
Savella Cathedral
which was visually impressive and now I'm curious to
reach the top of that tube transport
to find out what's what. I don't know why I'm spoilerizing this one here. I don't think there are any who haven't played it except myself. But, just in case.

Sigh, I wish I remembered more about DQ8 (or bought the 3DS version that is now like $100 new).

Hope everyone had a great Christmas / New Year's / December. I unintentionally went radio silent there for a bit - nothing major happened other than the rush of the holidays. Back at the grind now!
Games added: Iunno. Not a ton. Got DK Bananza for Christmas, and I picked up 3 cheap ones in the GS b2g1 sale (probably one of maybe 5 times I've set foor in a GS in the last year?): Deemo, Horgihugh and Friends, and Pipistrello And The Cursed Yoyo
Last whatever / This week: I've been replayed Control - just wrapping things up now, I've finished the main story & one of the DLCs, and I'm at the final boss of the other DLC. Doing side missions I missed now, then I'll circle back & finish off that boss. Great game, I'll have to play through Alan Wake 2 next (not immediately, but in the not-too-distant-future). Other than that, I 100%'d Clover Pit - very addictive game, that. I'm still playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure. It's a much better Animal Crossing. It's what the kids are calling a "cozy game", but I call "my brain is fried from working all day and I just want to relax in my new recliner and not think too hard for a bit". To-may-to-To-mah-to. I've also started DK Bananza, will probably get into it more in earnest soon - very fun so far.

Ha, I get it! That's a big part of the reason why I log and express my thoughts on the games I play. I feel like I need to keep that record for myself. I'm very into things while playing, but for some reason most entertainment experiences don't make permanent impressions for me, at least in terms of all the details. I'll remember how I felt about something but often forget much or most of the actual nuts and bolts. Even within games I'm currently playing I could never tell you what buttons do what unless the game is open and I have controller in-hand, lol. But, in fairness - in terms of DQ8 - we're talking about a couple of decades. I'm not even sure I was alive back then. I think you get a pass, ha!
There are some exceptions for me where a game is particularly impactful and I'll retain vivid recollection of narrative and other details, but those are not the norm, and I'm forced to either replay or read my own account of things in order to refresh myself. Brain is broke!

I'm glad I'm not the only one. The wife & I will be rewatching a movie we enjoyed, and she'll be "don't you remember this guy did that and went to this place with her?" - "Nope, I just remember I liked the movie." Only after I've seen something at least twice, sometimes more do the details start to stick.

It was horrific to lose like that to a hated rival with so much on the line... but they weren't going to go far in the playoffs anyway, especially if Hamilton was going to be out. Onward!

It's very fresh in my memory, but that's because I replayed it last year. Still my favorite DQ.
I agree with you on the second part. Wish I had grabbed that at launch. Ah well, it's surely going to get an HD update in the coming years.

That is me too. The only movie I'm really confident about knowing is "It's a Wonderful Life," which I've seen dozens of times.

We all be like:
"If I recall correctly, there were a couple of characters that did some...things...yeah."
