I'm still playing Tales of Berseria, and mildly enjoying my time with it. The story and characters are entertaining, but everything else about it is a little on the average side. Combat is somewhat fun, but a little button mash-y and repetitive. The environments are a bit of a mixed bag looking good in some places, and bland in others. Their designs and layouts (especially for the dungeons) are a bit dull. Usually in RPGs I like to spend time exploring the environments and going through the dungeons, but in this one I just go straight to the objective points to keep the story moving since that's what I'm primarily playing it for. It's design structure doesn't really lend for much exploring anyway.
This has been the worst generation for JRPGs IMO. I can't think of one really good one that I've played (I haven't played Dragon Quest XI, Final Fantasy XV, Ni no Kuni II, or Persona 5 yet). Part of the problem is that most of them are cross platform made for the Vita, PS3 and PS4 with the graphics only being slightly enhanced for the PS4 versions. But despite that, they seem to have lower budgets compared to past JRPGs and feel rushed lacking the care and time put into them like JRPGs used to get.

I thought that you already had Tales of Berseia. I'm curious to hear what you think of it when you play it. Have you played Tales of Zestiria?
