Unboxathon (PC) - December 8
Unbeatable (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC) - December 9
Drywall Eating Simulator (PC) - December 10
Mutant Football League 2 (PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC) - December 10
This Ain't Even Poker, Ya Joker (PC) - December 11
Finished: Once Upon a Katamari (story)
Now Playing: Dragon Quest II HD-2D, Once Upon a Katamari (trophy cleanup)
Added to Backlog: Octopath Traveler 0
Current Backlog: 40 games
Beat the 34 (I think) levels required for story completion in Katamari. Still plenty of trophy cleanup necessary as they are all about finding the 3 crowns in each level. But I've started DQ II in the meantime and will beat that first before going back to Katamari.

Still really enjoying Shantae 1/2 Genie Hero. I never played an entry before, but I'll surely play some more. Got a fun sense of progression with secrets and abilities that are sort of Metroidvania-like, albeit within discrete levels. And the platforming and presentation is fun as well.
Season 6 of the USBL is nearing a close and I'm about to win my 3rd consecutive division title as well as having the best record in my league. Hopefully I'll get a first round bye and a shorter path to the Victor's Crown. There's some tough opposition if we are to make it through though. Injuries have also accumulated a bit, but they're mostly shorter term and with the expanded roster in the final month I'm resting guys wherever I can to prepare for a fresh team and playoff run.
Almost the end of 2026 and I've got to wrap up some lose ends to have some "closure" on my gaming year. Been a fun year gaming-wise, if a bit lop-sided in terms of what I've played.

OH MY GOD, I BEAT ANOTHER GAME!!!!
Played: Bakeru
BEAT: BAKERU
This week: I started Another Crab's Treasure which I got in a Humble Choice bundle. I want to try to get into the whole Soulslike thing forever since so many things are Soulslike these days. I heard this is pretty much a good entry point for these types of games. One of the villains is named Loan Shark and it is a plastic shark head on a stick that lives in the ocean. It is the first character you meet. This game had me from hello...
I can't believe I am actually progressing through games on the train at a good enough clip to beat them. I really was smitten with Bakeru. It's not hard but I like the idea of a melee combat focused platformer with a lot of variety. It was really breezy (there's a super cheap power up you can by 3 of at a time that refills your life after after you lose your last hit point so you don't have to ever die). I had a really good time with it. I will say it's a tad too long...like they could have cut 1/3 out and it probably would have had the same effect but I am like that with every platformer. I highly recommend it.
Hope all's well, friends!

I'm not in a great place for playing DQ3. I've been so busy that the only time I get for gaming is late at night, and the slow pace of a turn-based JRPG is not a great match with being a tired old man. I love the game but I might put it on pause to play something more action-oriented for a bit. Maybe Astrobot or the Borderlands DLC. We shall see.
