Finished: nothing

Added to backlog: nothing

I've rolled through most of the side stuff in Vice City en route to 100% and the platinum, but man, the stupid fire engine missions are breaking my spirit. I don't want to think about how many times I've gotten near the end and had things go bad. I've tried doing them all over the map and experienced nothing but failure. Any advice, j? Do you remember any cheeses/glitches/work-arounds??

Never mind... finally beat it last night with minutes to spare. Go figure. Onward to plat!

This week: Nothing so far. Messenger is arriving in the mail today, so may jump on that.

Man, I am hyped for Culdcept - both of them - but I ordered them from play-asia because they were a good bit cheaper (and they were running a free shipping promo), so I'll have to wait a bit for them to arrive. Oh well, I've waited this long, I'll make it. Probably. :P

Crim, that's awesome about your little one's placement in the competition! :D

I just learned that the Vice City platinum requires either an obscene amount of grinding or a heavy dose of tedium and aggravation with different cheese methods. This is for the "Take The Cannoli" trophy, earned for a criminal rating of 1,000,000+ points. I'm reading about different methods and ... ugh. We'll see how I feel when I have everything else, but entering cheats to blow up 7 helicopters you've stored in garages for 4 hours? Doing the "Cone Crazy" side mission 20 times without screwing up the precise manipulation of the finish times by milliseconds to multiply the outcomes? Parking a police boat by Cortez's yacht and shooting at it for hours?

Glad you got it done! I just know that I got the fire truck and ambulance things done early in VC because I waited too long in 3 for one of them (I believe the ambulance) and the gangs shoot up your vehicle before you can get to the required level. That said, those requirements for plat sound dumb.

Finished: 007 First Light (platinum)

Now Playing: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Added to Backlog: Nothing

Current Backlog: 35 games

Today I learned that crim's kid is a badass! :)

I'm still playing Look Outside and am down to the final 3 days of the 15 day event where the mysterious extra terrestrial (?) visitor forces everyone to get a high dose of cabin fever in order to avoid serious misfortune.. But there is so much to do and see, and I've clearly only scratched the surface. Definitely the type of game that begs for a replay or 3. We'll see.

I had been doing a replay of Crimsonland after some recent discussion about twin-sticks here, but I got too addicted, ha. I put another 45 hours into it and obliterated my previous high score, but it's the type of game that can kind of feel like gambling addiction in a bad way. You're always seeking that perfect synergy of perks and weapon to make it all go boom the right way. 45 hours was enough, and I had a great time, but enough of that for the year.

Little Misfortune! Yay Killmonday Games! Just remember folks, if you can't hold it, it isn't real! :P Shake me sane again argyle! :P

So after not feeling super hyped about Rift Apart, I then got to the planet where you smack crystals to switch dimensions, did an obscene amount of grinding, got the missile launcher, got the hover boots and Nefarious was mad extra. So I just beat it because it's all I did with my spare time the last few days. That was flipping GREAT. It's right close to my favorite Clockblockers (A crack in time to you people). They are cheating by having Nefarious sing a villain song duet over the closing credits. I was wrong. Ratchet and Clank is always good stuff. Now on to...Spiderman 2. I have to download FF7 Rebirth and Remake still. So I guess since Spidey is already there, that's what's up next.

Oh, quick question: this PS5 controller is doing the absolute most. What settings do y'all have for this thing?. I am not particularly a fan of the controller speaker, the default on mic and these triggers that feel like they might break with my meaty paws.

Glad to hear it! I haven't grabbed it yet for some reason. Going to seek out the disc.

I don't think I changed anything, but the next time I play I'm going to try to turn off the default on mic. :x

I loved it; at least the series went out on a high note. I need to pickup the disc as well.
