I'm enjoying the game quite a bit, there was just a plot twist (not even sure that's the correct word) which threw me off.canedaddy wrote: Thu Sep 03, 2026 9:24 amI'm getting the impression this isn't a jfissel favorite.jfissel wrote: Wed Sep 02, 2026 3:47 pm Beat who I thought might be the last boss in Expedition 33, and then of course they add more story and I'm back to more exploration before credits roll at some point.![]()

I actually have the physical cart of Grapple Dog on the Switch, but I haven't played it yet. I'll bump it up the list, sounds like a good time.isthatallyougot wrote: Fri Sep 04, 2026 3:40 pm I beat the final boss of Grapple Dog which was a really fun and exciting multi-stage challenge. But strangely, that boss was at the end of world 5 and there's another world after called The Trials of Valor which really ask you to integrate all you've learned through defeating Nul, the main boss. I've collected a little over 200 of the 300 gems, 293 of which are required to access the final level along with the final 7 gems. And I have only done a single time trial which are just optional challenges for those who really want to master levels while getting bronze, silver or gold medals. It has really been a super fun game. Anyone who likes platformers, a good challenge and has access to the game ought to give it a shot. I've read that some struggle with the grapple and swinging mechanics, and that's a huge aspect of the experience and absolutely mandatory throughout every level. So, that could be a make it or break it part of the equation. But, I've really loved it.
And speaking of DoubleFine/Broken Age, that was one point and click that both argyle and I found to have some SUPER annoying aspects. It certainly had some charms as you would expect with the developer, and I wouldn't say I hated it *overall*, but it was one of those games whose negatives really soured the overall experience and positive elements in the end.
Speaking of point & click games, I found out about a new-ish (release last year I think) one that I had never heard of before but looks like it's right up my alley. Reminds me a little in tone of Fran Bow, so you might dig it too. It's called Centum:

Yeah, it's so fun. After beating the main final boss there's still tons to do. I've now got about 240 of the 300 total gems, and I'm just trying to get one or two a day as a side-piece sort of game until I do it all...hopefully. I still want to explore the time trials as well. Some of the things the game asks of you is really challenging, but in an enticing, "I want to do this" sort of way. But yeah, such a fun game!argyle wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2026 12:56 pm I actually have the physical cart of Grapple Dog on the Switch, but I haven't played it yet. Thanks for the recommendation. Oddly enough it was already on my wishlist, ha.argyle wrote: Tue Sep 08, 2026 12:56 pm Speaking of point & click games, I found out about a new-ish (release last year I think) one that I had never heard of before but looks like it's right up my alley.
