The Backlog Check-in Vol. 401: 9/8/25: Borderlands 4 Edition
Re: The Backlog Check-in Vol. 401: 9/8/25: Borderlands 4 Edition
I'm still here, work's just been a nightmare and by the time I get home I just want to veg in front of the tv, play a little ER, then hit the hay.
Games added: Nothing
Last week: ER.
This week: ER.
I very well may wrap up ER this week. In the main game, I'm at Malenia. I went from there to the DLC and have been focusing on that. I'm in the last dungeon of the DLC now. After I wrap it up, it's back to finish off Malenia then on to wrap up the main game (I'm half-way through Crumbling Farum Azula, and then there's not much to the final area of the game leading up to the last boss if I remember correctly).
Oh, and I *might* have put down a preorder on this last week:

Re: The Backlog Check-in Vol. 401: 9/8/25: Borderlands 4 Edition
I've played OOTP almost exclusively lately. Once I go down that rabbit hole, boy is it hard to get out. Almost 500 hours this year alone already, and no desire to stop anytime soon.
I have also played some more The Wild Eternal which is fantastic for someone with my particular nature. I "beat" the game at about the 6 hour mark, but there are suggestions of much more to discover, and I'm still searching the world for many of these things that apparently will lead to some whole new areas it seems.
I've also played more of Inferno Climber, but I'm just absolutely stuck. Still not ready to give in and try to find help, but it is a bit frustrating how stuck in the mud I have become in that one.
Also picked up quite a few games (didn't feel like looking for the mostly forgotten "Haul" thread, ha.)
I got the "Duo of Justice" Ace Attorney and Mega Man Bundle from Humble Choice. I didn't really like my only *brief* experience with Ace Attorney, but I'm open to giving it another shot. What I really wanted was all the Mega Man titles though. It's another series I've only briefly sampled but also one that I think I could really get into. My deepest experience is only with Mega Man Legends which I played in 2024, and I played a small amount of one of the 2D old-school games but bounced off out of frustration. But it's a series I have a pull to exploring more deeply, and now I've got tons of stuff to check out there. The bundle also came with Ghost Trick, and even though I have it on DS, it's nice to get a Steam key. The whole bundle was $35 which is far more than I'd normally pay, but it had tons of games and hours of gameplay, and I felt like it was surely worth it relative to all-time low prices across the content of the package.
Fanatical also had another one of their regular Bundle Fests this week, and man did they have some great deals. I got 11 titles that I was interested in for $11.13. Talk about a steal!

The regular prices on this group of games would have been a LOT more. Easy to take chances on things at those prices as well. I know I gush about PC gaming sometimes, but I still think back to the PS1 days when I always felt like I was committing highway robbery when I got ONE SINGLE game at the absurdly low price of $29.99, or GASP, sometimes $19.99. And so many games I've gotten for a buck or two on Steam have been much more fun than many games I paid so much more for back on Sony's original box. Don't get me wrong, I still love Playstation, well, its heritage machines anyway, and have many all-time favorites from them. I'm just in a persistent state of being gobsmacked at how much gaming goodness can be experienced for a pittance these days - even some free stuff is excellent quality.
Glad life hasn't eaten you up argyle, j and crim.
